Minimally invasive surgery allows your surgeon to use techniques that limit the size and number of cuts, or incisions, that they need to make. It’s typically considered safer than open surgery. You will usually recover more quickly, spend less time in the hospital, and feel more comfortable while you heal. In traditional open surgery, your surgeon makes one large cut to see the part of your body that they’re operating on. In minimally invasive surgery, your surgeon uses small tools, cameras, and lights that fit through several tiny cuts in your skin. This allows your surgeon to perform surgery without opening a lot of skin and muscle. Some minimally invasive surgeries are done with robotic technology that allows more precise control over the surgery. Other minimally invasive surgeries are done without robotic assistance. In modern medicine, most surgeries for women, Barr caesarean sections can be done either laparoscopically, robotically or vaginally to minimise stay in hospital, reduce pain, improve healing and enhance early return to work and routine activities. At Lotus Medics, Dr Kotasthane endeavours to offer the least invasive options for any surgery required for all his patients. Combining the latest imaging, and minimally invasive techniques, he strives to make the patient journey comfortable enabling women to return to work, with shorter stays in hospital, lesser pain, improved healing and lesser long-term morbidity.
At Lotus Medics, we understand that sexual function is an essential part of a couple’s life at all times in their life, and we believe in restoring normal female sexual function by addressing all the causative factors and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve female sexual health.
At Lotus Medics we understand that “normal” can be different for different women, but everyone understands safety. And when you are bringing your precious bundle of joy into this world, safety is key and cannot be overemphasised enough. A physiological birth which is natural does not require a midwife or a doctor. But pregnancy and labour is a dynamic process and there can be situations that arise that may deviate from the natural course or physiology. Whilst the journey, whether it be low risk or high risk pregnancy or a birth which can be a spontaneous vaginal delivery, or a forceps, or vacuum or a Caesarean section can be different for different women, what we all must focus on is the outcome – a healthy baby, a healthy mother and a happy family. At Lotus Medics we understand these different dynamic processes of pregnancy and birth. Whilst we strive to maintain the physiology at all times, we are prepared for the deviations in the pregnant state and labour and are prepared not only to recognise them but to help you adjust with them so that our goal of a safe outcome is ensured. Our priority is to enhance your physical, emotional and mental well-being though our holistic team approach to make this journey fulfilling and strengthen the bonds of family.

But this also means that women are spending a higher proportion of their lives in menopause, a condition that no one prepares them for. This “Change of life” hits many women just as they look forward to enjoying their lives after settling their children.

It can recur and require ongoing treatment. The main manifestations of this are either: Pain. OR Infertility (difficulty to conceive)
