Ever hand fed a black marlin before? This about as close as you will get to it. This has to be our favourite method to catch black marlin. We tow baited teasers behind the boat. Once a fish is raised in the spread we draw the fish closer to the boat, by retrieving the teasers and slowing the boat. As the teasers come within pitching distance, approx 10 - 15 ft, we pitch the bait to the marlin; and quickly remove the teasers. Once the marlin eats, we give a 5 second pause; then throw the bail and start to wind up the drag. You are now in hand to hand combat with a black marlin.
