Slumped glass or kiln fired glass which is also known as warm glass or textured glass is created in a firing process in which glass in melted to a mould form in a kiln. Similar to a pottery kiln, a glass kiln reaches extreme temperatures under which glass liquefies enough to take on a pre-designed form. The glass is cooled very slowly to set the shape and avoid cracking or deformation. Glass slumping is another of the specialised services offered by Catalyst Glass. Catalyst creates its own textures in glass suitable for home, office and corporate features. Feel free to call or email with any queries’ with regards to your next glass project or simply to find out more about Catalyst Glass services.
