Beaches XRAY provides an extensive range of dental imaging options. We have state of the art digital dental machines and perform low dose OPG, lateral cephalometry, TMJ and facial bone imaging. We offer Cone Beam CT, an ultra low dose dental CT scan. With this equipment we deliver images tailored to the patient’s and referrer’s specific needs. Examples of uses for CT cone beam include localization of impacted teeth, inferior dental nerve compression, temporo-mandibular joint assessment and dental implant assessment and surgical planning.
Nuclear medicine uses radiation to provide information about a person’s anatomy and the functioning of specific organs. This information enables physicians to provide a quick, accurate diagnosis of conditions such as cancer, heart disease, thyroid disorders and bone fractures. In some cases, radiation is used to treat this condition.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a method of obtaining images of a specified region of your body without the use of radiation or X-Ray technology. During an MR scan, signals are sent through the body then processed by the scanner to demonstrate anatomy in different orientations. MR images demostrate soft tissues, such as nerves, ligaments and joints, with clarity that will allow your Doctor to obtain a more accurate diagnosis. What’s more, MRI offers unique information to help your Doctor better plan your treatment and care.
A computerised tomography scan, better known as a CT scan, is a very useful and common procedure here at Beaches XRAY. The CT scan is a type of x-ray which rotates during scanning, and creates cross-section images of the body. This allows us to create 3D images of your body at multiple angles–detailed images which are vital elements for physician diagnosis and treatment. A CT scan generally will focus on one particular area of the body. At Beaches XRAY, we offer a comprehensive range of CT scans, including brain, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, as well as spine, bony pelvis, and extremities. Additionally, we also perform specialised CT scans such as CT Coronary angiography (CTCA), CT Angiography of all body areas, CT Colonography, and expert CT Interventional Procedures.
