Mozobil® is a prescription injectable medication that contains plerixafor, a hematopoietic stem cell mobilizer. It is used in combination with granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) to help collect hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) from the bloodstream for use in autologous stem cell transplantation in patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) or multiple myeloma. Plerixafor works by blocking the CXCR4 receptor, which causes stem cells to move from the bone marrow into the bloodstream, making them easier to collect through a process called apheresis.
