Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a method of permanently reducing hair from the body, using the specially constructed flash lamp and focusing optics. The focused broad spectrum light is applied to the skin surface using a hand held wand, the intense pulse light travels down the hair shaft to strike at the bulb or root of the hair. The bulb and most of the hair shaft is instantly vaporised.
