The painting depicts seeds known as Damper seeds which are small size seeds that originate from Bush Damper Plant. The painting represents aboriginal women collecting these damper seeds. These seeds are then crushed to make flour. This flour is then used to make Damper which is also known as traditional Australian bread. Damper seeds were a nutritious source of food for Aboriginal people and it could only be harvested for a little time every year.
