Abandoning their sensible lives to pursue a passion for books, Stephen and Trudy Cole opened The Lane Bookshop in 1980. Together they quickly established the shop’s reputation as the place to go for great books and knowledgeable advice. Customers were drawn in by the warm atmosphere and friendly staff. After many years of trying, regular customer Anne Day finally persuaded Stephen and Trudy to sell The Lane Bookshop and in 1994 she and husband Christopher bought the shop which they continue to own today. Book selling has changed over the years, but The Lane Bookshop remains a haven for book lovers. We love books and are passionate about sharing that love with our customers. We hope to see you in the shop soon.
