The Western Australian Road Transport Association (WARTA) is a ‘not for profit’ member driven organisation and is the peak advisory body representing the Transport and Logistics Industry in Western Australia. Membership representation includes - freight forwarders, long distance, heavy and bulk haulage operators, accredited pilots, and passenger services, including school bus and tour & charter operators. The transport and logistics industry continually faces a range of issues including business and regulatory requirements together with technology, road and infrastructure development and funding, environmental issues, politics at state and federal level, law enforcement, industrial relations, occupational health and safety, not to mention the day to day operating problems such as rising fuel costs. Faced with these challenges we possess authoritative information and experienced professional expertise to become a powerful voice that will work with all levels of government, the unions and industry to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. The Association was founded and named Fremantle Master Carriers Association on the 20th April, 1911. Over its 102 year history the association has gone through many changes including the merger of the Road Training Council and the Western Australian Road Transport Association in 2000 to Transport Forum WA Inc. Through consultation and feedback from our members it was unanimously agreed to be called, Western Australian Road Transport Association which resonates with industry. Regardless of the name changes the association has gained recognition as being one of the most progressive bodies representing our industry. WARTA is affiliated with the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) and is the WA branch of the Australian Road Transport Organisation (ARTIO). There are a range of benefits for members who join WARTA, and continue to renew their membership every year.
