The Cardwell Bush Telegraph is the old telegraph station and post office whihc was built in 1870 so the visitor information centre is also a great place to look around and learn about North Queensland's pioneering days. 
The Cardwell Bush Telegraph Heritage Centre is a popular tourist destination with visitors praising its interesting history exhibits and free admission. Some have also appreciated the friendly staff and informative locals. The foreshore is another attraction, offering nice sculptures and a rich history. The food at the local pubs is a highlight for many.
