The Mr Rental story began in 1983 when founders Glen and Kerrianne Hickman moved to Bribie Island, north of Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia. Together they opened a video library and rented TVs and VCRs as a complementary service. In no time, the home entertainment rentals were outstripping videos and by 1991 they had opened their first Mr Rental store. For 10 years, this enterprising husband and wife team built their business in their local community, developing and optimising operations and systems.
