Brisbane Arts Theatre is an iconic, self-funded performing arts community. Our members produce engrossing, high quality, accessible theatre. We educate emerging Brisbane artists and future industry professionals. Our people inspire our fun, creative and innovative culture. We're Brisbane's home of the performing arts. We are a not-for-profit organisation and have made a significant contribution to the performing arts in Brisbane since 1936. Our company comprises three operations: Brisbane Arts Theatre. The theatre company produces two complementary seasons every year: a diverse mainhouse season, with performances Thursday through Saturday in the evenings, and the iconic children's theatre, with performances at weekends and during school holidays. The theatre company owns the performance complex on Petrie Terrace and is responsible for both artistic and operational management. The Arts Theatre is one of Brisbane's longest running theatre companies, inviting members to be directly involved in all facets of theatre. The College of Theatre Practice. The training arm of the Arts Theatre offers nationally recognised, fully accredited training in theatre operations, in addition to structured acting workshops for both adults and children. The Arts Theatre has been a training ground for many performers who have gone on to professional careers, including Jennifer Flowers, Carol Burns, Shane Porteous, Bernard King and many others, while our children's theatre division has offered many young people a chance to perform on stage before they attend university or step into the world of professional theatre. Many of our regular actors have gone onto dramatic degrees at QUT, USQ and NIDA. Costume Cottage. The wardrobe department of the Arts Theatre boasts an extensive costume collection, including vast vintage pieces from all eras. It is the only wardrobe in Brisbane that offers a highly specialised, tailored costume service. 
Arts Theatre in Brisbane is highly regarded by its patrons for its intimate and community-oriented atmosphere. Many express appreciation for the delightful shows, reasonable pricing, and convenient parking. The Terry Pratchett adaptations are a popular tradition for some. The building may be old, but the air conditioning, comfortable seating, and friendly staff make up for it. Patrons enjoy the outdoor area for pre and post-show drinks.
