Challenge Drilling is a Western Australian company specialising in exploratory drilling for the State’s resource industries. Formed as an owner-operated enterprise with five employees, Challenge Drilling now employs approximately 50 people, including drillers and supervisors with abundant experience in the drilling and resource industries. Challenge Drilling provides, and leads its field in Rotary Air Blast, Air Core and reverse circulation drilling. Challenge Drilling prides itself on the increasing depths to which it is able to drill, while maintaining a good rate of output. The company regularly drills Air-Core holes to a depth of 150 metres, and has achieved a record depth of 182 metres. RAB holes are regularly drilled to a depth of 120 metres, and a record depth of 170 metres has been achieved. Challenge Drilling’s rigs are equipped with a heavy spares kit that enables them to provide continuous operation with minimal disruption due to breakages. In 2006 Challenge Drilling expanded its operations to include Reverse Circulation drilling. Challenge Drilling provides a compact Reverse Circulation rig which quickly attains the hole depths stipulated by the client, with minimal disturbance to the surface ground and environment.
