Tony and Mark have been collecting quality timber for decades. Many of these timbers have been salvaged from logs discarded by timber cutters over 60 years ago and forgotten for generations. These beautiful timbers are between 350 and 400 years old and hold the historical records of fires and extreme weather conditions in their unique grains and colours. Our recycled and reclaimed timbers have their own unique characteristics which serve to enhance their form and appearance. Often the natural live edges are worked to give a beautiful organic feel and flow to the pieces. Timbers We primarily use these 4 timbers: Jarrah is the most famous of Australian timbers known for its beauty and durability. Ranging in colour from Pink to deep Purple, unique to South Western Australia. We have a unique stock of Jarrah slabs ranging from 1.2 metres wide and 2.7 metres long, some of these slabs are centuries old. West Australian Sheoak is one of our personal favourites, originally Sheoak was used extensively as roofing shingles and barrel staves due to its ability to withstand moisture and exposure to harsh sunlight. These days more and more people are realising that its beautiful grains also makes the ideal for feature pieces of outdoor furniture, alfresco tables, kitchen and boardroom tables and many others Western Australian Blackbutt has the common name Yarri, the warm golden glow of this timber and its durability makes it ideal for benchtops, tables or any hardwaring surface. Queensland Red Cedar there is very limited supply, grows from nothern New South Wales to Queensland. Colour ranges from deep red brown to pink Importantly our recycled and reclaimed timbers are hand selected and grains and colours matched. All joins are hand planed to give a seamless look. Rough live edges are stripped back and hand sanded to give a smooth surface. All pieces are finished with hours of fine hand sanding to give a silky smooth finish.
