The New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) is a living museum of national significance located in Armidale in the heart of the New England North West region of New South Wales. NERAM contributes substantially to the economic, social and cultural fabric of Armidale and is enjoyed by more than 37, 000 visitors annually. NERAM opened its doors in 1983 as a purpose built art gallery for the Howard Hinton Collection of more close to 1, 400 donated artworks. The Museum now boasts six gallery spaces, the Museum of Printing, an artist’s studio, conference facilities, a shop and café, as well as art collections valued in excess of $41m. NERAM is the custodian of three important collections of Australian art: the Howard Hinton Collection, the Chandler Coventry Collection and the NERAM Collection. Together they offer a comprehensive overview of Australian art history unmatched in regional Australia. These collections include significant works by Australian and international artists such as Streeton, Roberts, Gruner, Preston, Whiteley, Gleeson, Tuckson and Christo, to name just a few. The annual calendar includes exhibitions of artworks from the collections, local and regional artists and major touring shows, as well as popular art classes, workshops and public programs for all ages. 
This museum showcases a significant collection of art from various artists, including contemporary and historical pieces. The entrance is free and the vibe is amazing. Visitors praise the beautiful galleries, exhibitions, and gift shop. The café is also a favorite for its exceptional service and food. Additional amenities include workshops, a printers club, and a sculpture out front. The staff are warm and knowledgeable, making for a great visitor experience.
