Whale Watching
Humpback whales usually visit the Fraser Coast and Hervey Bay region during their annual migration from Antarctica, and take shelter in the calm and warm waters of Fraser Island. If you want to get very close to these whales, then pack your luggage and pay a trip to Hervey Bay between August to September, the time when they return and depart to Antarctica with their new born calves. However, a dozen of whale watching tour operators are available from June to November.
