The GSDC is a Western Australian Government agency with offices in Albany and Katanning. The GSDC's role is to promote the economic and social development of the Great Southern region. The GSDC was established as a Statutory Authority under the Regional Development Commissions Act in 1993. It is one of nine development commissions established under this Act by the Government of Western Australia. The Minister The GSDC reports to the Hon Terry Redman MLA, Minister for Regional Development . Board of Management The Board of Management is the governing body of the GSDC and meets regularly to set major policy directions including budgets, major expenditure approvals and advice to the Minister on regional matters. Staff The GSDC consists of fourteen staff operating under the direction of Chief Executive Officer Bruce Manning, as shown on the GSDC organisational chart .
